2 Melton Directors Honored
We are proud to share the exciting news of two events in honor of two of our terrific Melton directors:
On March 25, the Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies honored Frieda Hershman Huberman as Educator of the Year. This award recognizes Frieda’s impressive background, accomplishments, and leadership over several decades as a Jewish educator. Frieda currently serves as the Director of Jewish Educational School Services and the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School for the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey. She also oversees JFNNJ’s partnership with the Foundation for Jewish Camp’s One Happy Camper initiative. We are proud to claim Frieda as one of our own, and to add our enthusiastic MAZAL TOV on this wonderful occasion!
On May 23rd, “A Tribute to Amy Karp” will be held in Pittsburgh to honor Amy “for her years of dedicated service to our community, the AJL, and the Melton Adult Mini-School.” We join the community in honoring Amy for her accomplishments, and with 1,100 graduates of Melton in Pittsburgh, there are many who join our chorus of praise. Contributions in Amy’s honor can be made to “The Amy Karp Scholarship for Adult Jewish Learning” at the Agency for Jewish Learning, 2740 Beachwood Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA, 15217. |
New Melton Tribute Cards available
Our newly designed Melton Tribute Cards are now available to celebrate a special occasion or memorialize someone dear. The message on the front of the card reads as follows:
‘And he shall be like a tree planted by waters, that spread out its roots beside a stream ... it is not troubled, nor shall it cease bearing fruit.’
